Each with cartouche shaped top; one with a motif of Classical gods and goddesses; the other of mortals in pastoral and exotic landscapes; raised on conforming apron supported by cabriole legs terminating in hoof feet; the whole with pale yellow background and decorations of red, brown, green and gilt; "Lacca povera" originated in Venice in the 1750's to resemble the lacquered furniture of Japan and China.
