“ With an eye for collecting as distinctive as a signature, Terry Gross, owner of Urban Chateau, has quickly earned her gallery a prominent position within San Francisco’s world of fine antique resources.”

“‘As a collector, I’ve always looked for value as well as beauty and because of that we buy antiques as close to the source as possible,’ Dr Gross says. ‘When we get a good value in Europe, we are able to pass that on to our customers. That creates value for the client, which is my buying philosophy for Urban Chateau.’”

THE PERSONAL TOUCH
Urban Chateau was founded by Dr Terry Gross and her daughter Lisa Gross Erickson with the goal of sharing Dr. Gross’s personal passion: 30 years of studying and collecting fine period French, Italian and European decorative arts. Over the past 15 years, Dr Gross has established lasting and personal relationships through her own collecting with some of the finest and most trusted antique sources in France. In addition, thrice-yearly buying trips to France and elsewhere allow a unique perspective on the antiques market with an eye towards pieces that have become increasingly difficult for the average collector to find.

“Urban Chateau specializes in original gilded and painted finishes, unique Objets d'Art, and other decorative items all arranged in evocative tableaux. Mother-daughter team Terry Gross and Lisa Erickson are responsible for creating this luxurious alternative universe in which each grouping reflects careful selection and a balance of color, texture, and scale. While it can't compete with a live visit to the regal shop, they've even created a user-friendly website featuring photos and descriptions of their entire inventory.
