The rectangular form centering on it's front an engraving of a royal visage; flanked by foliate and floral scrolls on ebony; containing gilded copper inserts, compartments for papers and a single drawer; the whole raised on ivory feet; from a prestigious Louis XIV period Parisian shop. The glass bulb for liquid ink was replaced in the early 18th century. Some restoration.
