A Rare Italian Impero Salon Suite of carved bois dore and white painted with sculpted decor reflecting the carving incorporating the acanthus leaf and sphinx design celebrated in the Empire period of France when Napoleon I captured Egypt. This salon ensemble consists of a canape, and two fauteuil all beautifully executed. This ensemble is pictured on page 464 of "Le Meuble Francais et Europeen du Moyen Age a Nos Jours" by Pierre Kjellberg.
