A beautifully carved Polychrome Louis XVI Slant Front Desk

The rectangular top with hinged fall-front; centering an oval reserve embellished with carved foliate and ribbon motif; opens to reveal a writing surface and fitted interior of drawers and letter slots; over conforming case incorporating two drawers; supported by square tapered legs; the whole enriched with paint in a soft celadon, ivory and pale yellow. Restoration to paint on interior, some wear to finish. Provenance: Luc Bouveret Antiquites & Decorations , Paris, France
