NAPOLEON III PERIOD (1852-1870)
French period also known as the Second Empire with a concern for comfort. Mainly plagiarized the 18th century styles combining their characteristics into one piece of furniture. Mahogany is the material of choice as well as rosewood and darkened pearwood( see Second Empire). Nesting tables, revolving bookcases and tub chairs are all introduced.

NEO-CLASSICAL
Inspired by the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Characterized by classic Greek and Roman architecture and decorative motifs. The style was most acclaimed during the Lous XVI period in France and the late Georgian designs of England?s Robert Adams and Mayhew and Ince.

NEO-GOTICO PERIOD (1855-1880)
The style of Italian furniture design synchronous with the Napoleon III period in France .
